About WildWatch Japan
Welcome to WildWatch Japan!
WildWatch Japan is an independently run wildlife project dedicated to sharing Japan’s rich biodiversity with the world.
I am a Japan-based wildlife photographer and field observer,
and all photos and articles on this site are based on my own firsthand experiences across Japan.
Everything you see here comes from real encounters in nature — not stock images or AI-generated content.
From the forests of Hokkaido to the islands of Okinawa,
I have spent years exploring Japan’s landscapes to document the country’s unique wildlife.
Through this site and my YouTube channel, I aim to create a living wildlife encyclopedia
that helps people around the world discover and appreciate Japan’s natural world.
Every photograph and article is personally created by me,
reflecting genuine experiences in the field.
I also run a Japanese-language wildlife blog based in Tochigi, where I share local guides, field reports, and firsthand wildlife encounters across Japan.
Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy exploring Japan’s amazing wildlife.
